Find the right registration service Low registration fees, plus the availability of other services that you might be interested in.
Once you have acquired your Domain Name, you should know what you will do with it.

Park it.
# Rent it (An often overlooked option).
Make a website that you can promote and generate revenue.
# Make it available immediately to potential buyers who are active in the niche that you have chosen.
Sell it on a Secondary Market Site, such as Sedo

Offer it to Domain Name Portfolio Owners. (i.e. A corporate entity that controls thousands of Names.
